The CES is a unit of the U.S. Census Bureau, and it exists to maintain the quality of the bureau’s census data and data products. It oversees all of the research data centers across the country and focuses on the analysis of confidential microdata collected in the bureau’s regular survey and census programs.
National Center for Health Statistics
The NCHS developed its data center to give researchers access to restricted data. In addition to providing access, the data center also hosts restricted data from a variety of groups within the Department of Health and Human Services.

MEPS is a set of large scale surveys of families and individuals, their medical providers, and employers across the country. It represents the most complete data source on cost and use of health care/health insurance coverage.
